About the portal

The Danish portal for Climate Change Adaptation presents the existing knowledge on climate change and climate change adaptation within a number of areas.

The information is targeted at individuals, municipalities and businesses. The portal provides information on the newest research and development within climate change adaptation in Denmark and abroad. The portal also contains a number of specific examples (case descriptions) of adaptation measures.

The portal is continuously updated. It provides the possibility to view graphic representations of climate data and find information on regional climate change in Denmark. Interactive tools and systems to support decision-making are also available on the portal.

The portal was developed by the Task Force on Climate Change Adaptation under the Danish Ministry of the Environment in collaboration with an array of other government institutions. Work in the individual institutions is coordinated by a working group set up for the purpose.

The Danish Portal for Climate Change Adaptation was originally created on the basis of an initiative in the former government’s climate adaptation strategy: “Danish strategy for adaptation to a changing climate”, made public in March 2008.
